Cardboard filters are used to clean the air in industrial spray guns. Initially, cardboard filters are used in conjunction with nonwoven filtration components of the Paint-Stop variety, found in the interior of varnish walls. Cyclone-type filters, also known as cardboard harmonicas, possess a series of desirable features, such as:
A cardboard filter works on the principal of a cyclone or labyrinth.
A stream of air loaded with, for example, particles of paint, after reaching the internal parts of the filter, radically change their direction, which initiates a segregation of the paint fragments from the stream of air and placing them in a specially designed compartment. The design of the filter’s operation is shown in the drawing. Cardboard filters are offered in many different sizes.
