Nawilżacz powietrza czy oczyszczacz?
When it comes to improving the air quality in their homes, many people face a choice: air purifier or humidifier? Can one replace the other? Can you use a humidifier and purifier at the same time? We present the key differences and compare the two devices.

Air humidifier vs air purifier - what's the difference?

Both a purifier and a humidifier can help maintain indoor air quality, but each performs different functions. A purifier is used to remove or neutralize contaminants from the air. They work by taking in air, which is then passed through a device, the contaminants are retained or removed on a filter, and clean air is emitted back into the room. Unlike humidifiers, air purifiers do not release moisture into the air. The same goes for a humidifier: it doesn't clean the air of contaminants. It simply adds water to the air, turning it into steam. Depending on the type of humidifier, it can emit hot steam or cold steam.

Humidifier or air purifier - which device to choose?

Now that we know the differences between humidifiers and purifiers and what functions they perform, it will be much easier to choose the right device depending on your individual needs. However, if you still have doubts, we will suggest when to decide to buy a humidifier or purifier. When to buy an air purifier?
  • Worsening allergies
  • Feeling stuffy in rooms
  • Respiratory diseases among household members
  • There is a smell of varnish or chemicals in the rooms
When to buy a humidifier?
  • Constant colds, sore throat
  • Frequent nose bleeds
  • Excessive snoring at night
  • Dry skin

Can I use a humidifier and air purifier at the same time?

Given that humidifiers and purifiers have completely different functions, you can use them simultaneously, even in the same room. Just remember not to place the devices too close to each other - moisture from the humidifier can clog the filters in the purifier or encourage mold growth on the filter.
